About me

I began studying at the University of Chester in 2011 and received a 2:1 honours degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics in 2015. After qualifying, I worked in the acute setting for my first year, where I gained a variety of experience in acute illness. Having done this work, I developed a passion for the areas of chronic disease - Weight Management, Type 2 Diabetes, and Bariatrics, and chose to focus my career in these areas as a senior dietitian for the past eight years. As a dietitian, I was immediately drawn to supporting people to lose weight and improve chronic health conditions. I understand the impact that these conditions have not only on physical health, but equally on emotional well being.

For the main part of my career I worked in a specialist weight management and bariatric service in the UK, both in the NHS and privately. I have helped clients lose weight and supported them with long term changes through education and reassurance, helping to improve their health and well being. I have also supported clients in preparation for bariatric surgery, as well as providing post operative support. I understand the complexity of making changes, and ensure to offer a non-judgemental space to discuss this. I have now moved back across the sea and have been working in the HSE since, mainly focusing in the areas of type 2 diabetes and bariatric surgery!
